Biography
Branka Franklin, MD, PhD, graduated in medicine from the University in Zagreb in 2002. She completed her Internal Medicine training at University Hospital Centre Zagreb and obtained her PhD in tumour immunology. She then acquired her Medical Degree from the Medical University of Vienna and completed her specialist training in Internal Medicine from Austrian Medical Chamber as well as subspecialisation in medical oncology and haematology.
Dr. Franklin worked in Wilhelminenspital in Vienna (today Klinik Ottakring) treating patients with different solid tumours and haematological malignancies and later as Consultant Medical Oncologist in University Hospital Vienna - AKH Wien, where she specialized in treatment of lower and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
She was also investigator in several clinical trials, developing particular interest in colorectal cancer and immunotherapy, published papers in peer-reviewed international journals and established collaboration with oncology centres of excellence such as The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, UK.
In Croatia Dr. Franklin continued her work as Consultant Medical Oncologist in the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, and from this year Dr. Franklin is part of the team at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Croatia as a lead of the Medical Oncology department.
