Dr. Timor Grego, PhD

Biography

Dr. Timor Grego, PhD, is an expert in medical physics with many years of clinical experience, particularly in the field of radiotherapy.

He was born in Rijeka, where he completed the Science and Mathematics Gymnasium. He graduated in physics from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb, where he later obtained his PhD in the field of medical physics. In 2018, he also earned the designation of Medical Physics Expert.

A significant part of his professional development took place at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, and since 2024 he has been the head of the medical physics department at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Croatia at Zabok.

He has completed numerous international trainings in the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland, as well as multiple professional visits to centers abroad in the Netherlands, Italy, and Switzerland. After joining UPMC, he underwent further training and residencies at UPMC centers in the United States, with a focus on advanced radiotherapy techniques (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT/SABR, SRS, etc.).

He actively participates in professional and scientific projects and is the author or co‑author of numerous scientific papers, primarily in the areas of medical physics, dosimetry, and the application of EPR spectroscopy in biomedical materials. He has taken part in many international and domestic conferences, where he has presented work in radiotherapy, dosimetry, and the application of ionizing radiation.

He is a member of the Croatian Radiation Protection Association (HDZZ) and the Croatian Medical Physics Society (CROMPA).
